About

Yunhye Park is a Seoul based playwright, director, dramaturg. She was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. She holds a BA in Theatre Studies and Scenography and a MFA in Musical Theatre Writing from Korea National University of Arts. Yunhye is a graduate student at NYU Tisch School of the Arts for an MFA in the Graduate Musical Theater Writing Program.

She won the 1st prize of Arts Council Korea Selection's New Play Contest with her original musical Trinity, which is about the Manhattan Project and the scientist Oppenheimer.

And also she won the 1st prize of 21st New Play Festival with her play Tomorrow to the sea. 

She's also the finalist in the Global Musical Live program and the young creator competition in Korea.

As a writer, she always try to think about hope and contain a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and show the power of hope to sustain us in even the darkest of times. And furthermore, she's trying to bring light to the struggles of her communities and offer a vision for a future that is more just, equitable, and compassionate.
